Judy's Early Learning Preschool Daily Routine

Morning Class:

8:50 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Welcome children as they arrive.
9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Free Play. Creative activities such as block building, construction,dramatic play,sensory activities,games.
9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Circle Time. Teacher lead activity. Exploring the topic or letter of the day with songs, finger plays, activities and music and movement. A child is designated as "helper of the day". The helper puts the day on the calendar and the teacher leads calendar activity with day of the week, date and weather.
10:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.

Toileting and wash up.
Nutritious snack is served to the children.

10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

Art activity and small group activities. The children create a craft,drawing or painting every class to take home. This reinforces the theme/letter of the day. This also teaches important fine motor skills such as correct pencil grip, scissor skills and handwriting skills. Those not at the art table are doing "free choice" small group activities such as educational games on computer/tablet, puzzles, alphabet games, reading,listening center and science activities.

10:45 a.m. to 10:55 a.m. Clean up song and tidying up of learning areas.
10:55 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Relaxing and quieting of children with activities such as Yoga stretches.
Second Circle Time. Teacher lead story time promoting Early Literacy skills through our vast library of books, flannel stories and listen and learn stories. Reinforces the theme/letter of the day.
Outdoor play (weather permitting) or indoor gross motor activity such as exercise or organized game.

11:30 a.m. Children are picked up by caregiver.

Each month children enjoy a large variety of learning opportunities with our "Science Day" experiments, "Gym Day", "Show and Tell Day", "Nutrition Day" and "Math Day" activities.

 
Afternoon Class: (Our morning program is repeated with a new class of children in the afternoon).
12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Welcome children as they arrive.
